how does an Affiliate Make Money?

ok so i have an Affiliate Website and everything is setup. now what can i do now how can i start making money i dont have a job and no money so it has to be free now how can i do this. if anyone has any advice or tips then please let me know. i can really use some help right now me and my family are in a big crisis so how can i make money with this website of mine.

Having a website will not create traffic to your site by itself. If you are not willing to invest cash, you have to work on getting traffic some other way. Getting targeted traffic means you must have some focus on your site to attract people looking for specific information.

Here is what you can do:
1. Create content on your site that is specific to the focus you have and relevant to your potential target audience. Make sure you follow all the rules about tags, titles, keywords etc.
2. Submit your site to as many directories like Yahoo as possible.
3. Submit your site to search engines.
4. Sign up for Google Analytics to see how your site is doing.
5. Participate in social networking and answer site like this one to create links to your site. The more links you have the better. You need to become an expert in any chosen field for people to listen to you or to follow you. LinkedIn, Tweeter, Facebook, all good options.
6. Don’t anticipate overnight success. It takes much longer than you think to make money on the internet.
